Una Fiesta para Boris
Una Fiesta para Boris (A Party for Boris)
This production of Thomas Bernhard’s play, A Party for Boris (Una fiesta para Boris) was performed in Barcelona at the end of 2011 on what would have been the playwright’s 80th birthday and I was the dance therapist on the production.
It was the Spanish première and the play was translated by Miguel Sáenz. The cast consisted of a group of 16 amputees, all participants of the workshops held previously at L’Estruch (Sabadell).
The aim was to reach out to people who are often socially excluded and actively involve them in a creative process to change society’s perception resulting in more tolerance and understanding.
So often actions and words that are well-meant can be the exact opposite. We wanted to challenge this and ask how can we help in the right way?
