Dance for Parkinson’s

My dance for Parkinson’s classes are expressive and creative and promote feelings of freedom from the physical and social constraints of living with Parkinson’s. You can bring a family member or carer free of charge to share in the creativity and joy of moving in a friendly, supportive and safe environment.

The classes are designed to support health conditions, work as a preventative approach and improve mental health. Expect a relaxed, social and uplifting session with upbeat music, good company and targeted movement activities to improve general mobility.

This photograph was taken after an amazing session held by Tori Caine and myself in collaboration with Pauline McWilliams for my Dance for Parkinson’s group and kindly assisted by Kate Pike. We combined movement with singing and had the most joyful time. Pauline is trained in leading singing for people with different conditions. She starts with bespoke exercises to loosen up the body, improve lung health and strengthen the voice and she understands the sometimes unpredictable nature of Parkinson's.
